Soms uit gewoonte, omdat dat nou eenmaal het meest bewandelde pad in die grijze massa is, soms omdat iets vanbinnen zich onveilig voelt en daardoor je brein (en dus je zenuwstelsel) in overdrive gaat. En hoe fijn het ook zou zijn, het wel of niet <strong>stoppen met overdenken<\/strong> is helaas niet iets waar jij invloed op hebt. Gelukkig zijn er ook genoeg dingen waar je w\u00e9l invloed op hebt en hier volgen dan ook <strong>3 tips<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>waarmee jij jezelf kunt ondersteunen wanneer je bovenkamer niet meer te stoppen is<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Vaak hebben we geen idee wat precies de aanleiding voor het overdenken is geweest en het goede nieuws is: dat hoef je ook niet te weten. Ergens is er in elk geval een vleugje, of een hele vrachtwagenlading, onveiligheid in je systeem gekropen en nu probeert je hoofd je te redden &#8211; door erover te blijven piekeren of door het te verstoppen achter een gordijntje van gedachten. Hoe het overdenken zich op dit moment ook precies bij jou uit, en wat er stiekem ook wel of niet achter zit, het is er nu, het is naar, EN je hoofd bedoeld het hartstikke goed.<\/p>\n<h2>De goede bedoelingen van je hersenpan<\/h2>\n<p>Ik weet het, het is bijna niet voor te stellen, en toch wil ik je uitnodigen om voor een moment te overwegen dat alle delen in jou het beste met je voor hebben en zo goed mogelijk voor je willen zorgen op de manier die zij voorhanden hebben.<strong> Je hoofd, hoe slim en handig ook, heeft een vrij beperkte toolbox<\/strong>, namelijk: controle regelen. Als jij maar weer de controle hebt, dan komt alles goed, dan ben je veilig. En dus gaat je hoofd je gezellig van alles kwalijk nemen, worst-case-scenario\u2019s met je doornemen, zwart-wit-denken of je keihard afleiden; alles is geoorloofd, zolang je maar niet hoeft te dealen met het gevoel dat er eigenlijk onder zit. Het piekeren of overdenken helpt je dus niet werkelijk om je voor te bereiden op iets ergs &#8211; zoals het soms lijkt; het is oude pijn aan het afspelen in een nieuwe, verzonnen situatie.<\/p>\n<h3>Een persoonlijk voorbeeld<\/h3>\n<p>Mijn hoofd kan bijvoorbeeld helemaal losgaan als ik het gevoel heb dat ik er niet bij hoor. Dan bedenkt die bovenkamer de pijnlijkste scenario\u2019s waarin ik buitengesloten en belachelijk gemaakt word. Ze zijn natuurlijk totaal niet realistisch, maar zo voelen ze wel. Wat namelijk w\u00e9l is gebeurd, zijn de vreselijke pesterijen vroeger op de basisschool. Je merkt dat de situatie niet overeenkomt met de reactie. En dat klopt dus helemaal; het is namelijk een reactie op hetgeen dat in eerste instantie voor de blauwe plek heeft gezorgd. <strong>Je kunt zo\u2019n pieker- en\/of overdenkaanval dus ook zien als een uitnodiging om er voor jezelf te zijn.<\/strong> Misschien regent of miezert het, misschien voel je alleen een zachte bries, maar in jouw zenuwstelsel stormt het nu. Zowel door de trigger, als door het piekeren zelf. Jouw systeem kan namelijk het verschil niet zien tussen wat echt is en wat uitsluitend in je hoofd gebeurt. <strong>Voor jouw zenuwstelsel zijn de sc\u00e8nes die zich in je hoofd afspelen werkelijkheid<\/strong>;
